Hello and welcome to Jack’s blog!
This blog page is dedicated to our new Great Dane Jack Mason. Allow me to introduce you to Jack and tell you a little about him.
On December 8th, 2009 Jack Mason was born to Annie Got Your Gun. Jack was the second of four beautiful fawn Great Danes. He was breed by Timmi Williams. She owns Annie and has been breeding Great Dane s for over 25 years. Jack came into our lives at 8 weeks on February 7, 2009.
When we brought Jack home it was late in the afternoon and Biscuit was home waiting to meet his new brother. Initially the two didn’t hit it off very well and we found Biscuit upstairs away from Jack as much as possible. However, over time, Biscuit began to warm up to Jack and started to engage in play time.
The first week with Jack consisted of everything new for him. We began to crate train him and get him potty trained. There were many sleepless nights and I may have lost a year or two from the sleep deprivation. Eventually, Jack started to “get it” and we are sleeping longer thru the night. Currently, Jack wakes between 12-2am and then again between 4-5am for breakfast. He eats 4 times a day and would probably eat more if we let him.
At nine weeks, Jack got his ears cropped by Dr. Robert LaBounty. I watched the entire procedure and it was very bloody. It looked like a butcher shop with several dogs lined up along the counter shivering from the anesthetic wearing off. Jack’s recovery when very well and at 12 weeks Jill Ferrera taped Jacks ear up for the first time.
